AC, Hot Shower & Cereal - Jan. 8-14, 2019

Jan. 8-14, 2019

Hey all!!

Hope everyone has been fine and had another great week. This past week flew by. Before I knew it, the week was over. It was filled with a lot of stories and experiences both awesome and bad. It seemed like we were basically out of our area more than inside it this week

I was sick for the first half of the week and we didn't really do much. We had a lot of zone business to deal with so I mustered up my strength and went around the zone to minister to our zone members. Konongo Zone is a lot like Kwamo Zone. Both zones are the most spread out in the mission. It takes a lot of time to travel around the zone but we love our zone members and we find ways to help them in every aspect of their lives. That is one of the best parts of being a zone leader is the opportunity that we have to socialize and serve other missionaries.

This week we also had MLC which basically took out two full days from the week. Since we are so far away from mission home here in Nkawkaw we had to leave the day before MLC and sleep in the Mission home. That was an absolute blessing because 1) Air Conditioning 2) Hot shower and 3) Cereal for Breakfast!!! Those three perks are why every zone leader wants to serve outside of Kumasi. MLC was super spiritual and we talked a lot about the 2019 goals and visions for our zones and for the mission as a whole. This last year the mission really struggled with baptisms compared to 2017 but surprisingly obedience and conversion were up. As a mission, we are all excited for 2019 and the wonderful things that are in store for us. There are rumors that in a couple of months an apostle will come out to Kumasi to create two new stakes which would be seriously sweet. I just hope I will still be here when that happens.

Holy Family Hospital

The day after we returned from MLC we spent the whole entire day in the hospital with one of the elders in my apartment. He was having some serious stomach pains so we ran him over to the hospital around lunch time after we finished weekly planning. We sat and waited and waited forever finally in the evening right before dark we entered the apartment.

Our main working days were Saturday and Sunday and we used both those days to the max. We invited and invited and invited people for church but nothing. We haven't given up hope and will continue to go out this week and work as hard as we can to bring people to the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. As we do our part and rely on the Lord miracles can happen out here. I know that one for sure. I have been an eye-witness to many miracles since I have been out here. Exactly as it says in the scriptures faith can move mountains and achieve anything in our lives. Have a wonderful week and make sure to do things every day that build your faith in Jesus Christ!

Love,
Elder Ordyna

P.S-I promise more pictures next week. Tomorrow I am going to the tops of the mountains here in Nkawkaw on an exchange. Will have awesome pictures.
